Two-Time Emmy® Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet may be most recognized for his role on the hit comedy, “Modern Family” as theexuberant, fun-loving, character Cam, but off-screen, he holds a different role — a passionate cancer research advocate. Cancer hastouched many people in Stonestreet’s life – he lost both of his grandfathers and his uncle to cancer, his grandmother battled cancer three times in her lifetime and his mother is a two-time cancer survivor. Similar to Stonestreet, many Americans have been affected by cancer insome way. In fact, it is estimated that two in five people in the U.S. will develop cancer in their lifetime.1

While surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy continue to represent the standard of cancer care, the potential for a longer life has remainedelusive for patients with advanced cancer. In an effort to raise awareness about cancer research and ignite interest in cancer education, Now Stonestreet is helping to launch Ready. Raise. Rise., a campaign designed raise awareness of immuno-oncology research. Anumber of leading cancer advocacy groups are supporting the Ready. Raise. Rise. campaign, to help educate about immuno-oncology, an exciting area of cancer research that seeks to harness the body’s own immune system to find and help fight cancer.
